Gerard “Jerry” A. McHale, CPA, CFF
Jerry McHale is a nationally recognized forensic accountant and bankruptcy trustee based in Fort Myers, Florida, with over 45 years of experience. He is a founding partner of the accounting firm McHale, Caruso, Scullion & Knox in Fort Myers. For the past 20 years, he has worked extensively in asset administration, management and recovery, and litigation support matters. Currently, he is a Chapter 11 Federal Bankruptcy Trustee with cases in the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of Virginia and the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
Jerry is a licensed CPA in the states of Florida and New York. He is certified in financial forensics (CFF) and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Florida. Mr. McHale’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), and the Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professionals Association (SWFBPA).
R. David Isley, CPA, CFF, CFE
David joined the firm in 1998. His primary areas of focus are Court-Appointed receiverships, forensic accounting, fraud examination and damage analysis. Additionally, he provides litigation support services and expert testimony in both criminal and civil cases, specializing in economic crimes. He serves as a Court-Appointed Receiver and has extensive experience in business operations and management, which brings valuable expertise to receiverships involving ongoing businesses.
His experiences in receivership cases include businesses in the hotel and restaurant industry, marinas, real estate investments, retail and wholesale, and others. David is a graduate of the University of South Florida with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Finance and Accounting. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida, he is a Certified Fraud Examiner and is also Certified in Financial Forensics. Mr. Isley’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Susan M. Sprehn, BBA
Sue joined the firm in 2009 after having worked with the firm on previous bankruptcy cases. Sue is a seasoned senior level executive with over three years in the restructuring and insolvency arena and 25 years in the development and construction industry, with 12 years of specialization in commercial real estate. Sue’s primary area of focus is in bankruptcy and business reorganization. Sue holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Cleveland State University. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Association (ABI), International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals organization, the Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professional Association (SWFBPA) and the Urban Land Institute.
Kelly L. Klingler, CFE, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Kelly joined the firm in 2010 bringing with her nearly 20 years of accounting and finance experience. Prior to joining the team, she was the Senior Financial Manager of Financial, Planning and Analysis for WCI Communities, Inc., a NYSE-traded luxury-residential developer. She is a graduate of Hodge’s University earning a Master’s in Business Administration and the University of South Florida, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In addition, Kelly is a licensed Certified Fraud Examiner.
Brooke joined the firm in 2012 and has been working primarily in litigation support and forensic accounting. Brooke graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Accounting and Taxation. She is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Cindy Gibson, CAM
Cindy is a licensed Community Association Manager. She has been a part of the McHale, PA team since 2005 bringing with her an expertise in property and association management. She works extensively in the receivership area of the business.
Linda S. Davies
Linda joined the firm in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant. She brings with her an extensive career which included Confidential Secretary to the Editor of a major newspaper in Massachusetts, Executive Assistant to two Superintendents of Schools in Connecticut and Executive Assistant to the CEO of a mental health facility in Delray Beach, FL. Linda is a graduate of Westbrook College in Portland, Maine.
